AOC Archaeology Group provides a comprehensive post-excavation service. We have a dedicated team to take an archaeological project from initial project design and management through assessment and analyses of sediments and bio-materials to assessment and analysis of artefacts and finally to interpretation, reporting and publication.

Our post-excavation team ensures that once in from the field archaeological samples and artefacts are swiftly assessed and evaluated, facilitating a seamless transition in project stages, and ensuring a fast turnaround time for our clients. We combine the legal and curatorial requirements of the sites with the needs of our clients.

In addition to serving the requirements of our own field projects, our specialists provide analysis for other archaeologists. Our skills in post excavation project design and management are supported by our in-house expertise in sedimentology, soil micromorphology, soil chemistry, dendrochronology, palaeobotany, palynology, faunal analysis, osteoarchaeology, artefact conservation, laser scanning of artefacts and the study of pottery, building material and lithics. We have strong associations with other highly regarded organisations and experts and we can cover the entire spectrum of artefact and ecofact analysis.
