Archaeological Assistants - Edinburgh

AOC Archaeology Group currently has vacancies available for Archaeological Assistant positions on a one year contract, to be based at our Edinburgh office. You will be part of a team undertaking projects across Scotland and the North of England.

The on-site works will include hand excavation and recording, planning, photography, machine supervision, sediment sampling, landscape survey and instrument survey.

In-house works include sample processing, artefact cleaning, sample sorting, preparation of site archives and data input.

You should have a sound archaeological background with a minimum of 3 months experience of practical aspects. It is essential that you are a good team member with a positive approach to commercial archaeology, and resident in Edinburgh.

Degree level qualifications, IFA membership and secondary specialisms or abilities, along with a clean Drivers Licence and computer literacy would be advantageous.
